Julie Masci – Director and Dietitian

Julie Masci is a practising dietitian, accredited with the Dietitians Association of Australia. She is the director and principal of New Life Nutrition, a Brisbane-based private dietitian practice.
With Italian blood pumping through her veins, food has always been a major focus in Julie’s life – embarking on a career in nutrition and dietetics seemed only natural. Julie believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience the pleasures of food, while also staying healthy, and looking and feeling great.
Julie works to provide realistic diet and lifestyle changes to assist in weight loss for people of all ages, and to manage associated chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. Throughout her career as a dietitian, Julie has worked with a wide range of doctors and specialists, finely tuning her knowledge and expertise in health improvement.
Julie’s special interest in gastrointestinal disorders (including irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS) and food intolerance stems from her own personal experiences in this area. She aims to help clients identify and manage individual food sensitivities using proven techniques. Julie strongly believes that relief from long-standing food-related symptoms can improve a patient’s understanding and appreciation of both their body and their mind.
Appearing on Brisbane’s televisions as an expert dietitian on Channel 9 News, Channel 7 News, Today Tonight and Brisbane Extra, Julie explains nutrition and helps debunk diet myths. She also has extensive experience as a public speaker, engaging seminar and lecture audiences in conversations about obesity, diabetes and coeliac disease. Julie is a regular contributor to the Australian Weight Watchers Magazine.
Julie’s attention to detail as a nutritionist has given her the opportunity to work with a variety of local food manufacturers and health care providers in Brisbane. Her work with aged-care facilities has helped ensure residents’ meals are appropriate and nutritionally adequate, and intensive individual product analysis has allowed Julie to provide her nutritional endorsement to many food companies.
With an appreciation of culture and individuality, as well as a contagious enthusiasm for good food, Julie brings a fresh approach to the field of nutrition and dietetics. She strives to motivate and provide friendly guidance to her patients as they move towards achieving their individual health and nutrition goals. Julie passionately believes every patient’s outlook on and approach to life can be improved by what and how they eat, and she will stop at nothing to ensure her patients’ continued success, health and happiness.

Jarrah Curry – Dietitian

Jarrah is committed to offering all patients individualised, patient-centered care using diet to create positive health outcomes.
Jarrah has worked in private practice for the last four years after completing her studies at QUT. Whilst working in private practice, Jarrah gained extensive experience in chronic disease management, weight-loss and lap band, and gastrointestinal conditions. Her passion for dietetics lies in food allergy and intolerance management, women’s health, metabolic illness and vegan/vegetarian diets.
On a personal note Jarrah is a born and bred Queenslander, who loves all things food including cooking, baking, eating out and going to farmers markets. She also has an adventurous side and can often be spotted scaling a cliff or a rock-climbing wall in her spare time.
Jarrah is the dietitian that visits our Coorparoo, Carina, Wellington Point, Daisy Hill, Springwood and Taigum clinics.
Andrea Love – Dietitian
B.HlthSc (Nutrition & Dietetics)
Graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) from the Queensland University of Technology, Andrea is passionate about all things food-related.
She enjoys building close, professional relationships with clients in order to develop personalised strategies that achieve goals. Andrea believes that no one person is the same; and endeavours to find what works best for each client, using a supportive, patient-centred approach.
Andrea believes that food is wonderful, and when eaten in proportion, brings nothing but enjoyment to every aspect of life. It is her belief that food is social, artistic and creative as much as it is sustenance; combine it with a healthy lifestyle and mind, and an individuals quality of life can be dramatically improved. In her spare time, you’ll find Andrea in the kitchen cooking, blogging, or photographing her culinary creations. She is a social media fiend and is not shy about whipping out her phone at the dinner table to get the best shot.
Andrea’s professional interests include weight management, paediatric nutrition and gastrointestinal disorders.
Madeleine Baumgart – Dietitian & Registered Nurse

An Accredited Practicing Dietitian, Madeleine has experience in the weight-loss industry and favours a client-centred approach to achieve weight management goals. Having recently become a mother, Madeleine is a passionate advocate of both maternal and paediatric nutrition and has a keen interest in this field.
Having struggled with food intolerances most of her life, she is enthusiastic about gastrointestinal disorders such as coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and enjoys managing FODMAPS, diabetes and general nutrition issues.
In addition to being a Dietitian, Madeleine is also a Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. She has extensive experience in the healthcare setting having nursed for 12 years in Australia and London. Her nursing background led her to pursue her studies in Nutrition, as she understands how essential a nutritious diet is to chronic disease prevention and management.
Madeleine believes the fun should be put back in to eating and steers away from restrictive eating patterns. She looks forward to guiding you towards the very best version of yourself by establishing realistic nutrition goals with you, not for you.
She believes, after all, that we are what we eat.
Mai Parr – Dietitian
MND, BFSc&N, APD, AN
Mai is a Melbourne-born Accredited Practising Dietitian. She understands how a busy lifestyle can impact on eating patterns having done shift work in hospitality, as a nanny and a fitness instructor. She started cooking when she was 4 years old and her love of fresh food is attributed to her Vietnamese ancestry and her grandma.
With a strong desire to see Australia, Mai set off to complete her Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics in Canberra. She has worked in Darwin, Alice Springs, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane and rural NSW. Mai is passionate about helping individuals make informed, sustainable, and lifelong positive changes. She loves teaching individuals learn how to find their balance and enjoy all foods because restrictive diets are boring and not sustainable. She advocates for lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes; and firmly believes that home cooking is one of the best ways to achieve better health outcomes overall.
She loves tending to her balcony garden, playing her ukulele, hiking and picnics.
Mai is currently consulting at Genesis Fitness Jindalee and available for individual consultations concerning weight loss, Coeliac disease, diabetes, PCOS, irritable bowel, food intolerances (gluten and lactose), lowering cholesterol, and more.
Alessandra Trovato – Social Media Dietitian
My Italian heritage provided me with the passion and background knowledge in food to commence my career in nutrition.Upon my completion of my senior high school studies I began my bachelor of nutrition science at Queensland University of Technology. This degree qualifies me as an accredited Nutritionist.
When I am not studying or working, you can find me out and about with my family and friends. I enjoy being active and I love to take my dog Zico on long walks especially on the beach.
Growing up in an Italian household, food has brought me much enjoyment as it is the centre of every family function. I love learning to cook all types of foods.
